I would work out a deal with a local pet shop or two. If you have high quality stock and fancy tails (such as crowntail or delta tail) then you shouldn’t have any trouble at all selling them. Don’t expect too much for them at first at least and expect to be offered store credit for them. Most shops will want to see samples of your fish before committing to buying them.
With good quality stock, it’s not a hard sell for you at all and once a shop sees you are serious, you can sell regularly to them. I pay 25% of tank price for most locally bred fish, but a bit more for good quality bettas.

If you don’t have homes for the fry then I’d suggest that you don’t breed your bettas. Bettas can lay 100′s of eggs at a time. It doesn’t sound like you’re prepared for that. Once they fry get bigger you will also have to put all of the males in seperate containers which takes up a lot of space.
Hi, Yes you can sell them to pet stores were you may only get a bulk rate price for them. However you might want to sell them on line, or at your local Aquarium Society auctions. It’s a little more work, but you are most likely to get the best price for them. You well need to sort & grade them by size, color, fin or tail type, male & female. Even though you are breeding halfmoon bettas, you may get some other fin or tail types in the batch of fry as well. Only keep the best one for breeding stock.

Talk to a local pet store and see if they’ll buy them. You could also write to the newspaper in the classified section. http://www.aquabid.com is like a e-bay for aquarium fish and supplies. You could try to post signs that advertises bettas, but I don’t think that would work very well.

You will have better hope selling in the net or best of all, to your neighbour and friends than to the petshop.
The ‘stock’ they take are 10-20% of the selling price.. And they are quite choosy. Are you ready for that?
