i signed a deed to own a timeshare and to make payments on it for the next couple years. i do not think i am ready and really want to get out of it right away. i need advice as to what to do.

Your best bet is to go through a time share broker, they deal with this sort of thing all day long and it’s in their best interests to get you the best deal they can.
It’s not easy to get rid of them given the current economic climate, but it is still possible.
You might end up having to cover the difference in what you can sell your timeshare for and what it actually sells if you try to sell it privately, but if you use a broker you are much more likely to get a better deal.
Good luck…
Make sure you have soap, you’re about to take a bath. Find a real estate agency in the area in which the timeshare is located and find out exactly how bad a position you’re in. (You’ll probably have to sell it for 75% of what you owe, or less. You’re still responsible for the balance.)
If you just signed, there might be a cooling off period. Get on the phone tomorrow in your area and find out. They only last for a few days.
