This is my second week working as a telemarketer. We sell vacation packages at a really good price. I made two sells my first week, which my boss said was good. But I haven’t made any sells this week yet. I’m afraid they are going to fire me if I don’t get any sells this week. Does anyone have any advise for me?
A timeshare is a form of ownership or right to the use of a property, or the term used to describe such properties. These properties are typically resort condominium units, in which multiple parties hold rights to use the property, and each sharer is allotted a period of time in which they may use the property. Units may be on a part-ownership or lease/”right to use” basis, in which the sharer holds no claim to ownership of the property. The notion of the term “time-share” was originally created in Europe in the 1960s. A ski resort developer (Hapimag) in the French Alps marketed his resort by motivating guests to “stop leasing a room” and instead “buy the hotel”. Succeeding achievement followed, and the idea had been quickly accepted through developers globally, boosting product sales of surplus condo units at a time when the resort industry had been stressed out. Due to the promise associated with trade, these types of units, called “vacation ownership” through the business, often sell regardless of their own deeded resort (the majority are deeded right into a particular resort site, though other forms of use do exist). What isn’t frequently disclosed is that all differ within buying and selling energy. If one is in Hawaii or The southern area of Ca it’ll exchange well; however, those areas are some of the most expensive on the planet, susceptible to demand typical of a very trafficked vacation area.
Most timeshare tours consist of a minimal 90-minute revenue presentation of the timeshare destination or product sales center, guided by a salesman, an offer of some sort of snack or meal, and ending with one or more salesmen (and often the product sales manager) encouraging as well as pressuring for a obtain. The company sending the guest for the timeshare resort normally receives some sort of referral fee, which has resulted in a substantial number of businesses that present timeshare tours as an incentive.
In order to go on a timeshare tour, each timeshare resort has a different set of qualifications, usually consisting of age and income and occasionally must be citizens of the country where the resort is located.
Timeshare companies come to a decision which nations they are going to accept visitors from. If married or cohabiting as a couple, both spouses or partners have to attend. Singles are qualified differently. Males have to generally be married, though ladies can often get away with becoming single (and occasionally they even reduced the minimum revenue requirement).
That is simply because of the perception that it can be simpler to market the timeshare with a woman than it really is to a man.
Every location generally allows a person tour per year.Usually a timeshare tour is thrown in as either a bonus or possibly a requirement for getting some item from a corporation, generally one which is vacation related. Telephone surveys, vacuum cleaner salesmen, and additional, deliver incentives to customers who are willing to listen to them such to be a “3 day/ 2 evening stay” in Las Vegas, San Francisco, or other common getaway destinations. These incentives are, in reality, a commitment to carry a timeshare tour.
Vacation organizations leverage their current contracts with timeshare resorts to deliver more competitive vacation deals, such as cost-free hotel remain, demonstrate tickets, etc..
. These will generally be provided inside the kind of the “$99 dollar family vacation package”, that will require a numerous evening keep, tickets, and so forth with the requirement that the traveler qualify for and carry the timeshare tour.
Some timeshare tours can extend well beyond the amount of time at first quoted for the tour and can include the application of substantial amounts of pressure by several income agents. Sometimes, a no cost benefit will likely be denied or delayed right up until the guest agrees to pay for through the holiday resort, but that is only the situation when the organization seriously isn’t a credible a person.

I’ve never been a telemarketer, but when they call my house, I get annoyed, usually because they come on extremely strong. Don’t come on strong to people, be very polite, make sure you know everything about the packages you are selling, and don’t talk extremely fast. Don’t act like a telemarketer, just act like a regular person who’s out to take care of the family. People will be more quick to listen to you.
I’m in sales as well. It’s really hard and cut-throat. Just be patience, but aggressive and remain calm.
stop calling people. that is all the help you need. get another job but learn english first.
The best advice: believe in yourself! Obviously, you have some talent for cold-calling and selling, so just relax and realize it WILL happen.
The other huge piece of advice–SMILE when you are talking on the phone…it will come across to the person on the other end of the line. Enthusiasm cannot be faked…believe in yourself, believe in what you are selling/doing…and everything will fall into place.
Good luck…and BTW, you sold two packages last week! They are NOT going to can you!
Remember this is the fourth of july week and depending on where you are calling people may already be on vacation.
Also, most people *hate* telemarketers. I know that I for one do not take their calls.
Keep looking for another job.
Difficult thing to do, i remember when i use to work at telemarketing company……i believe u might have a pitch to read from, try modifying ur pitch……be quick with details,i hope it helps……..
stick with it and try your best
its rough….just keep trying…treat everyone as a person….holiday weeks are always bad..
I was a telemarketer and I loved it and did well.
It takes time and patience to learn the business, to learn what works and what doesn’t. You need motivation and you must not lose hope because it can me discouraging at times.
Ask your boss what is the average amount of business package the average telemarketer sells in a month. Maybe this will make you feel better.
