I’m talking about RTP here. Since I didn’t own any shares in it, I’m sell shorting. It’s strange coz it’s not going down with the rate I expected. I don’t understand why it isn’t going down coz any investor in their right mind would be selling on the spot, wouldn’t they?
So the real question is: Why isn’t the price going down (or at least going down fast enough for a quick buck!)?

Relax guys. I’m a complete newbie and I’m doing this with a Virtual Stock Exchange program.
As for the stock, it’s today’s highest gainer and it’s the one looking like it’s going down.
There is no news or insider transactions (which I think is very curiours and I’m looking the company up on the internet now).
(It’s at 440 now, made 200$ so far
)

First off you need to start working with percentage change of a stock and not the absolute change of the stock.
a 100 point rise seems like a lot, but after looking at the chart, this is on average a $350 stock. So the relative change that has occured is only approx 25% gain.
There obiously was some sort of news to mark this event.
Do your homework before making a trade 4 things to ask your self.
1. What news or events made the stock move?
2. Is the news worthy of such a move?
3. what are the insders doing?
4. Look at technical analisys to plan your trade.
I have not researched this stock, so I will not be giving specifics.
If the news is just rummors or some other news that is in your opttion not worthy of its move you would calculate as to where the stock will recover, it may not go back to the 350 line so quickly.
If the company reported earnings that exceeded expectations then there is a reason for the move and the stock could go even higher than its curent position.
I like looking technicals combined with news for me to decide if a stock is ripe for shorting.
Technicals I look at are Relative Strenght and OVB.
Oh my god. Why would you short a stock like this one? Because it is expensive or had a big time run up? I am looking at their financials and they actually look great so I don’t understand why you would take a huge risk of shorting them.
If you are asking people in yahoo answers what to do then you shouldn’t be shorting the stock I have invested in stocks for 9 years and I STILL don’t short. There are too many risks. You have to pay interest, the broker can sell your holdings at any time you are losing, AND if the stock goes up and all you shorties have to get rid of your short position, then that means you ALL have to buy the stock, which further pushes the price up more.
they wouldn’t be selling if they thought it was going to go up higher – maybe you’re the only one that thinks it’s going to go down – have you done thorough analysis on the company?
sell quick, the markets are falling fast
