I need to scrounge up an extra ,000 dollars for a new car (current one is dying fast, and I am not interested in putting any more money into it).
I’m looking to sell of some of my stocks to raise the cash for the down payment, but not sure which of what I own would be a good sell right now. Preferably one (or ones) that aren’t going to have a lot of gains in the next six months or so, so it doesn’t feel like I lost out on too much to pay for my new ride.
Here’s what I have right now:
Johnson Controls (JCI) 100 Shares
Proctor & Gamble (PG) 100 Shares
International Business Machines (IBM) 50 Shares
General Mills (GIS) 100 Shares
I realize this is highly speculative, but how would you sell to get K out of the moarket, given those positions?
I’m talking about RTP here. Since I didn’t own any shares in it, I’m sell shorting. It’s strange coz it’s not going down with the rate I expected. I don’t understand why it isn’t going down coz any investor in their right mind would be selling on the spot, wouldn’t they?
So the real question is: Why isn’t the price going down (or at least going down fast enough for a quick buck!)?

Relax guys. I’m a complete newbie and I’m doing this with a Virtual Stock Exchange program.
As for the stock, it’s today’s highest gainer and it’s the one looking like it’s going down.
There is no news or insider transactions (which I think is very curiours and I’m looking the company up on the internet now).
(It’s at 440 now, made 200$ so far

I want to start my career at stock market. So I have been going a broker house regularly since 3 months. I can realize that some people are earning a handsome profit regularly by selling & buying share. They are only buying and selling 2~3 listed share. I keenly observe that Every day they sell a share in a particular time & buy a particular time but they never loss. I can’t understand their art. But I want to do this business. Please guide me how to do share business like those men.
