My son (23) and his girlfriend (21) bought a timeshare together back in August 2007 while they were on vacation. They were talked into buying it, you know all the sweet promises. It has something to do with points.
Well, they are broke up now – still friends…but they want to get out from under the timeshare.
How do they sell it? Where can they sell it? Can someone sell it for them?
I need names, addresses, websites, etc…
We live in Waco, Texas.
They are willing to take a loss, no matter how big. They just want nothing to do with it anymore. On hindsight, they now realize they should have never bought it in the first place, especially since neither know anything about investing and things like this….

we recently purchased a timeshare at the Westgate Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV. I was contacted by Resort Equity Marketing sales rep. to list timeshare for rental. I went to WorldMark by Wyndham presentation.
They weren’t able to answer this question. All personnel was wearing Wyndham labels. But they claimed that they are very separate from Wyndham. And they claimed that they aren’t “timeshare” program at all but a vacation ownership program.
So are WorldMark points the same as Wyndham points?

Is it worth it? We are doing it in San Antonio. We aren’t interested in the timeshare but we were wondering if they try to charge us anything else other than the package without telling us? Has anyone ever done this and what do you think of it?

Answer by tntsolid The announcement makes it look as though you will get something valuable for nothing. But that is not true. You will have to earn it by sitting through a long sales pitch, often of more than two hours, and frequently using high pressure tactics. For that, you will earn the cheapest of the “gifts” listed.

Answer by Sweetharttt They will ask questions on your vacations that you have taken. Tell then you stay at the cheapest hotels you can find because you are there only to sleep and not for the amenities provided. Tell them you spending a lot for a room, or having a kitchen is not for you. On vacation you do like to eat out. Getting the time down to 90 minutes will be the hardest because they keep switching you from one sales person to another with different speels. Just ell them you have tickets or a play starting at such and such a time and need to leave when your time is up. Just don’t fall for their words’
